Big Bouncy Waves Hair Tutorial

Hello everybody!
Long time, no blog!
Hope you're all having a very happy Sunday, I'm currently just chilling out and enjoying the last of Sydney's hot weather.
Just made this post to let you know I'm making videos again and uploading on Thursdays and Sundays(and I'm really going to try and stay on track this time)
So without further ado, here's my latest tutorial.

Love,
Phoebe

What's In My Everyday Makeup Bag?

As you can see from the title, this is what I tend to reach for everyday and if I travel, this is all I take with me(plus brushes, of course). In case you're wondering, the bag is from Estee Lauder but I bought it at Cosmo Cosmetics and I assume that it came from a gift set originally but if I find it online I'll be sure to let you know. Let's get down to business lad!

ONE
Too Faced Neutral Eyeshadow Palette- If I could recommend one palette for beginners then I'd suggest this one! It comes with 9 eyeshadows that are absolutely beautiful and if you're new to make up, it comes with little cards that tell you what colours to apply where.

TWO
Riri Hearts MAC Eyeshadow Palette in Her Cocoa- Newest addition to my beautiful little makeup family, love using this for an easy, everyday neutral look.

THREE
Revlon Colourstay Eyeshadow Palette in Attitude-  I don't actually use this as an eyeshadow palette, I simply use the lightest brown for my eyebrows or I mix the light brown with the darker brown colour when I'm going for a more dramatic look. The top two colours of the palette are absolutely crap, terrible pigmentation and they're generally ugly colours.

FOUR
Benefit Blush in Rockateur- Despite the tacky packaging this new addition is gorgeous. It's great if you're into subtle blushes, like me. A soft pink with champagne undertones.

FIVE
NYX Eye/Eyebrow Pencil in White- This has recently returned to my everyday makeup routine, I forgot how much it opens up the eye if you apply it to the waterline.

SIX
Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep- A newbie, I use it on top of the brown eyeshadow to thicken up my eyebrow hairs.

SEVEN
Ardell Brow Sculpting Gel- LAST ONE, I promise! This is the final step to set the eyebrows to make sure they don't fly around like idiots. It actually used to be clear but has turned brown from the eyebrow powder. GROSS!

EIGHT
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory- There is a reason why this is raved about; it's simply amazing! I like how it's not too thick and easy to blend especially under my little eyes. Definitely makes me look more awake!

NINE
Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara in Blackest Black- I switch up between this and The Falsies, however, I think this mascara gives a more natural look as it doesn't seem to clump at all.

TEN
Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer- Definitely part of my holy grail and one of my best kept eyeshadow secrets(not anymore!). It definitely seems to make your eyeshadow stand out more and it stops your eyeshadow from creasing all day.

ELEVEN
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light- I actually don't wear foundation, I simply wear a BB Cream and this is my all time fave. I tried the Garnier and Rimmel BB Creams but they didn't seem to be anywhere near as good.

TWELVE
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Silky Beige- Another Raver! It's true, it's possibly the bestest of the best when it comes to powders and it's even more important for me and my dearly loved oily T-Zone.

THIRTEEN
Maybelline Dream Terra Sun Bronzing Powder in Bronze- A nice subtle bronze glow although it smells awfully like soap, still unsure how it makes me feel #emotions!

Spring Suckers Haul

Let's start off by saying my wallet has been completely abused(don't tell the authorities) and I wouldn't suggest being this excessive with self- indulgence on a regular day-to-day basis. However who doesn't like new things? :) Without further ado, this is what I got sucked into.

Lavender Oroton Beauty Bag

This little beauty simply popped out at me when I walked past. Intrigued, I went over to look at it thinking 'damn, if only I could afford something like this' and to my great surprise it was on sale for $70.  You have no idea how excited I was, it was like christmas came early(on a good year), I simply just had to have it! In my opinion, it's too small for a beauty case and I've decided that I'm going to use it as a wallet or clutch(it really is quite small).

Oroton Key Chain
This is one of those little counter teasers. I already have this keychain but it's in the pink and blue colour and I thought that this colour was more muted and goes with more, plus, my other keychain is looking quite ragged so why not? I'm a girl, what's your excuse? And really, it's hard to pass up stuff on sale. (It was only $25) :)

Sohum Limequat Candle
My candle was almost finished and I went into MYER with the 'try new things' mindset, however, this candle smells so gosh darn diddly ding dong damn good and I had to repurchase it or my nostrils might never forgive me.

Essie Nail Polish in Chinchilly
Thumbs up for building my slowly growing Essie collection!!!!!!

Soap and Glory Flake Away Body Scrub
In need of a body scrub, I went to Soap and Glory after seeing countless great reviews on their products and BOOM right in front of my face was a BABY SIZED body scrub waiting to be nurtured so, of course, me and maternal instincts couldn't refuse.
Benefit Blush in Rockateur

Despite the ridiculously cheap, garish, floozy packaging, I swatched this in store and WOW it is such a gorgeous colour! A subtle pink with champagne undertones and the perfect amount of shimmer? HELLS YEAH! I'm taking you home, and that is the story of how I got sucked in to yet another product!

What have you just been sucked into buying? Let me know in the comments below :)

Where have I been? Was I dead????

My Favourite Hand Creams

These 3 little babies are my absolute favourite hand creams, all having different features that I love and cannot resist.

My favourite of the 3 is the L'Occitane Cooling Hand Cream Gel which I actually purchased quite recently.
It has cooling properties and a definite mattifying finish which is perfect if you get sweaty hands just like me.
It smells exactly like a lemonade ice block, so good you almost want to eat it.
When I first opened and used this product I noticed that the formulation was quite watery and I was confused how it could be mattifying but after I applied it, it seemed to soak in quite quickly so don't be fooled by that :)

Next up is the MOR Lychee Flower hand cream. As you can see it's a little battered up as it lives in my handbag. This one has a beautiful mixture of a floral and a sweet scent but it's not overpowering like some hand cream scents can be. The formula is in the medium sort of range, not too watery but not too thick either which in my opinion, is great.

I've mentioned Sukin before in a blog post and as I mentioned in that post it's one of my favourite skincare brands. This hand and nail cream is great as it contains soy protein which works wonders for your nails and cuticles. I also love it because of the scent. It contains mandarin, lavender and rose hip and those three together smell amazing as it's not too overwhelming.

What are your favourite hand creams? Let me know in the comments below.

My OPI Collection

OPI is by far, my absolute favourite nail polish brand! I'm so excited to share with you the colours I have in my slowly growing collection :)

From left to right:

  • Lights of Emerald City
  • Goldeneye
  • Just Spotted the Lizard
  • Austin-tatious Turquoise
  • You're Such a Budapest
  • Significant Other Colour
  • An Affair in Red Square
The first OPI nail polish I ever bought was Just Spotted the Lizard. I got a mani-pedi and it was the colour I chose on a whim and I completely fell in love. It was fate! After having it on a couple of days I decided to buy it, I marched into Myer and I found it instantly without even knowing the colour's name. In the bottle it looks half gold, a quarter green and a quarter blue but when you apply it on the nail, it comes out gold although you can see the greenish-blue tints in different lights. After applying it myself, I realised just how quickly it dries, it's amazing. I highly recommend this to everyone. To this day it is still my favourite in my collection.

Next up I bought Goldeneye and An Affair in Red Square and these colours did not disappoint. Both are great colours and are completely opaque after two coats and applied smoothly and perfectly. These ones also dried just as quick. This is when I completely fell in love with OPI.

Austin-tatious Turquoise was my next purchase. In the bottle the colour is so beautiful but after applying it, I wasn't so impressed. The formula is quite thin and it took me four coats for it to be opaque. FOUR COATS? WUTTTTT! It really didn't live up to OPI's standards. I'm not sure if I just got a dud one or not but I was not happy JAN.

On the same day I bought Significant Other Colour and I thought it was great. It's this pretty pale, metallic pink colour with hints of green-ish pearl. Sounds weird but it's soooo pretty, I love it.

You're Such a Budapest is a gorgeous lavender colour from the European Centrale collection. I didn't have a colour like this in my overall nail polish collection so I thought I'd give it a try. The formula is quite watery but after 2 GOOD coats(3 if you tend to apply thinner coats) you should be ready to go. I love that this colour looks as though it's a solid colour but upon further inspection you can see little bits of silver shimmer that make your nails look shiny even without a top coat.

Last, but not least, is Lights of Emerald City and let's just say that this is definitely competing with Just Spotted the Lizard as far as my favourite OPI nail polish goes. It is actually a clear nail polish but it has large, square pieces of white glitter along with smaller pieces of clear, iridescent glitter. Personally, I think it looks great on it's own or over the top of another colour. Even though I love this nail polish, it can be quite tricky to apply because of the large pieces of glitter and it also takes a little longer than normal to dry.

Well that brings us to an end and now all I want to do is go buy more. LOL
